Not
far from Burano, once the Canale Mazzorbo is doubled, there
is the third among the most famous Venetian isles: Torcello.
Torcello, inevitable tourist destination, is a joyful isle
with prosperous farm-lands, that maintains the charm that
used to be. Very long ago it used to be the centre of an austere
and flourishing civilization.
